The environment
Santanyí is one of the most attractive towns on the island, founded in the year 1300 by King James.
II of Majorca. The medieval church, documented as far back as the 14th century, and the 18th-
century parish church form a historic complex with a lot of character, with the incomparable beauty of its golden stone and the monumental organ by Jordi Bosch, an authentic jewel that is becoming more valued every day. The old urban fabric of the town comes to a special life on Wednesdays and Saturdays, when the bustle of the market fills the town with color and multicultural sounds.
One of the great attractions of the municipal term is made up of the landscape diversity of some coves of singular beauty. Cala Figuera is a traditional fishing port with an important industry of bars and restaurants. Mondragó is a natural park that brings together a handful of virgin coves shaded by leafy pine forests and crystal clear waters. Near the natural arch of Es Pontàs is Cala Llombards with a beach in the background. The most famous coves in the area are Cala s’Almunia and Caló des Moro.
Cala Santanyí is a beautiful marine entrance located to the southeast of the island of Majorca and 45 km from Palma airport and 3 km from the historic center of Santanyí. It is a small open cove between rocks of discreet height and provided with a small beach of fine sand, with pine forests, the sun and the waters of the Mediterranean, the beauty of an extremely attractive and unique place.
